Seven weeks and 13,000 fan submissions later, Avicii‘s new track “X You” — dubbed the “world’s largest music collaboration” — is finally complete.
As previously reported, the famed DJ and producer launched "Avicii x You" in January, a unique project that invited fans to participate in the making of his next single. More than 4,000 people contributed, from 140 different countries. Avicii selected weekly finalists, then allowed fans to vote for the winning beats and sounds to be used in the finished product.
The two-time Grammy nominee pieced together the track in his Los Angeles studio alongside fellow producers Kian Sang and Martin Kupilas. All royalties from “X You” will be donated to House For Hunger, a relief charity founded by Avicii and his business manager Ash Pourouri.
The official video was released on the same day as the release of the single on 22 February 2013. It includes loans finalists, winners and everyone who participated in the project.
