Hailing from sleepy Canberra, PEKING DUK have recently busted out of their home town and created some incredibly catchy electro-house; now Australian boys have just released the official video to their much loved breakthrough single ‘The Way You Are’.
Voted #6 in the "In The Mix Top 50" Australian DJ poll for 2012, Peking Duk showcase an onslaught of talent validated by enviable success from studio to stage. Supported by Tiesto, Steve Aoki and many allies across the dance spectrum, it's no surprise when their third single "I Love To Rap" hit buzz traps it shot straight to the Top 10 of the ARIA Club Chart while at the same time a bootleg remix of Passion Pit's "Take A Walk" attracted six-digit views and top spots on the Hype Machine charts.
Taking the stage for summer 12/13 festivals including Parklife, Foreshore, Stereosonic, Field Day and Falls Festival as well as being the official support act for the Bloody Beetroots' recent Big Day Out sideshows on top of ground swell for touring around Asia and the USA in 2013, things are looking very promising for the Canberra duo.
The latest single "The Way You Are" has been on Triple J Hit List since December 2012, also spending 6 straight weeks at #1 on the ARIA Club Chart (currently at #3) as well as a host of high-profile plays and support from the likes of Laidback Luke and Don Diablo, the track features a hot vocal sample hook and guitar-line which builds and drops with crazy energy, this tune defines the future for Peking Duk, keeping their gritty party flavour and melding it with an anthemic indie-disco vibe.
Produced & directed by Melbournes’ Ryan Sauer; the video features some short shorts, a suburban bike ride and a heavy make-out sesh. Feels like reading Cosmopolitan in 3 minutes of video footage. We love!
