The Verona group was founded in May 2002 in the Czech Republic - Prague. It is formed by a music producer and composer Peter Fider and a singer Markéta Jakšlová. Peter discovered Markéta thanks to Lída Nopova, Markéta‘s professor of singing. At that time Peter was preparing the project Verona and needed a singer, so he contacted Mrs. Nopova. She introduced Markéta to Peter and soon after a few meetings, the Verona group was born.
The style of this project would fit the category pop/dance. The songs from the early period were mostly dance tracks, but as time passed Peter and Markéta began to experiment more, the boundaries between dance and pop music blurred and now are using elements from other musical styles as well. From 2005 the Verona group started to write songs in English to be more attractive for a foreign market.
